Everything you need to know about your TND-761 "The New Deco"

Chapter 1 — Thank You! The Story of The New Deco

Dear Wearer,

You're holding more than a watch. You're holding a tribute — to the people who build, repair, create, and keep moving even when the world isn't watching. The New Deco (TND-761) continues the legacy of the very first JWalker: a watch named for Joseph J. Walker, a father whose quiet strength shaped the world in ways that can't be measured in seconds.

The TND-761 draws from the discipline and geometry of Art Deco design, blending it with modern precision and materials chosen with intention. Every line, every numeral, every surface is meant to honor those who rise each day and walk their own line.

"The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart."
— Albert Camus

We chose it because it reflects the truth behind every JWalker: meaning isn't found at the summit, it's found in the climb towards the heights.

Thank you for joining us at the beginning of this journey. You are now a part of the story. May this watch mark not just time, but moments of purpose.

Sincerely,
Ryan C. Walker

Chapter 2 — Founder's Circle: First Come, First Served

The first 100 supporters of JWalker — the earliest believers — receive a place in the Founder's Circle.

What this means:

  • You receive a unique preorder code tied to your First Edition watch.
  • You get first pick of any new release, colorway, or limited edition.
  • You'll be notified before the general public when new models open for reservation.
  • Your support becomes part of the brand's foundation — a quiet but permanent mark on our history.

The Founder's Circle isn't a club. It's a thank‑you to those who helped build something new from the ground up.

Chapter 3 — Your Movement: Seiko VH31 / VH31B

At the heart of the TND-761 is the Seiko VH31, a sweeping seconds quartz movement chosen because it feels alive and is incredibly reliable.

I'm a firm believer that "disposable" is a mindset. If your watch breaks, I can fix it.

Key Features

Sweep Seconds: 4 beats per second for fluid, mechanical-like motion
Torque: ~0.30 µN·m — roughly 4× the torque of standard quartz
Accuracy: ±15 seconds per month
Battery Life: ~2 years (SR920SW)
Hacking Seconds: True hacking for precise time-setting
Shock Resistant: Yes
Antimagnetic: ≥1600 A/m
Design: Clean, intentional 3-hand (no date)

Setting the Time

  1. Pull the crown gently to the time-setting position (this model does not have a screw down crown).
  2. The seconds hand will stop.
  3. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands.
  4. Push the crown back in to resume the sweep.

Battery Replacement

Use SR920SW only.

Replacement should be done by a professional to maintain water resistance.

First Edition Perk: If you're part of the First Edition, your first battery replacement is on us. Email [email protected]. Shipping must be paid by you, but the maintenance and battery are complimentary.

This movement was chosen because it reflects the JWalker philosophy: precise, resilient, and quietly exceptional.

Chapter 4 — Water Resistance

The TND-761 is rated for 50 ft (approximately 3 ATM) of water resistance.

✓ Safe Activities

  • • Handwashing
  • • Light rain
  • • Snow
  • • Everyday splashes

✗ Not Recommended

  • • Swimming
  • • Showering
  • • Submersion
  • • High-pressure water exposure

Maintaining Water Resistance

  • • Ensure the crown is fully pressed in at all times.
  • • Avoid exposing the watch to soaps, detergents, or solvents.
  • • Have seals checked during battery replacement or every 2–3 years.
  • • Avoid extreme temperature changes (e.g., hot showers, saunas).

Water resistance protects your watch — but respecting its limits protects its longevity.

Chapter 5 — Care, Maintenance & Straps

This chapter gives owners the practical guidance they expect.

Leather Strap Care

  • • Avoid soaking leather; it is naturally porous.
  • • Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
  • • Condition occasionally with leather-safe products.
  • • Expect a natural patina — it's part of the story.
  • • Replace straps when worn; quick-release makes this simple.

Case & Crystal Care

  • • Wipe with a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints or dust.
  • • Avoid abrasive surfaces and harsh chemicals.
  • • If scratched, consult a professional for polishing options.

Changing Straps

The TND-761 uses 20 mm quick-release lugs.

  1. Slide the quick-release pin inward.
  2. Gently remove the strap.
  3. Align the new strap and release the pin to lock it in place.

Compatible with leather, rubber, and stainless steel bracelets.

Storage

  • • Keep away from strong magnets.
  • • Avoid extreme heat or prolonged direct sunlight.
  • • Store in a dry place when not worn.

This chapter ensures the TND-761 ages with dignity — and with you.
